TALIESIN SPRING GREEN WISCONSIN
Dear Dr. Spivey- Your most valuable Christmas "remembrance" was laid on my desk yesterday and cheered our necessity considerably - as you may imagine. We were just getting to preliminaries for the music-building together, finally, to send to you. We've been at them a long time and feel they are very beautiful indeed. I have put in with them a note to Mrs. Whitney-explaining all briefly-and referring her to you for help if she does not understand them thoroughly- I think she should be told that if she desires to go ahead with plans for the building she should send us a check for $3,500.00. If she does not, right away, then she should send us a check for $1,500.00 to pay for these preliminaries- We are glad to have any suggestions either of you have to make and will try to incorporate them or make any changes you may require. you will see, readily enough that this is an easier building to build and a cheaper one than either the chapel or the library - about half - I should say. We all send you all our best-remembering Mrs. Spivey especially. We wish you could drop in, as before, from a plane but with Mrs. Whitney this time. Yours Faithfully Frank Lloyd Wright.
