Dr. Ludd M. Spivey- Dear Doctor: In as much as I do not like to bother you, ###### received a letter and drawing from Mr. Wright. The whole layout of esplanade surrounding the library, every thing is changed so I had to rip every thing apart, to gain ###. We were ready to pour any time, if we would have had the rock and concrete. On the new lay-out we are forced to put in four more columns, on the east side of the library. I received the drawing today the 12th. Have a good time and don't worry. Robert
Robert D. Wehr was a member of the faculty and the construction superintendent of Florida Southern College. The title for this letter is designated as variation 1 because it is the handwritten version of the typed letter which is, also, in this collection under the Digital ID fscdoc0000179l.jpeg and the same title except it is designated variation 2. This letter was handwritten on the back of a receipt dated Aug. 8, 1942 for cypress lumber from McGinnes Lumber & Supply Co., Lakeland, Fla. that was sold to Florida Southern College for a job referred to as E Stanley Jones. The date created was taken from the date of the letter's creation and not that of the receipt's. There are small holes in the top left corner of this letter that were caused by a staple that has been removed.
