DR.LUDD M.SPIVEYLAKELAND:FLORIDA
Dear Dr.Spivey: You are on our conscience here now. But you who are
accustomed to building without plans cannot realize I feel sure - the
amount of time, energy, and technique that must go into the preparations
for one of our buildings especially when of a creative nature like those
we are getting ready to build for you. I know your reactions to this
statement. I can only hope the ultimate outcome will make you feel
entirely happy.
The Dormitory and Faculty houses are a big job even before FHA, will look
at them. They are nearly ready.
The Chapel became so expensive to build with what executive labor I saw
down there that I had to simplify it greatly and I am happy to say it is
also, greatly improved.
Wes is starting out so soon as this material is well in hand. We've been
working continuously on it for a long time.
A telegram from Charlie Morgan's lawyer threatens suit against you and me .
I wired "If Charlie thinks this an honest way to get money - let him try".
I also enclose a letter I've written him in reply to one he sent enclosing
a letter you wrote him (also enclosed). I suggest you tell him quite firmly
how you feel about having him on the work again.
My best to you
