Mr. William Wesley Peters
TALIESON WEST
Phoenix, Arizona
My dear Wesley:
I want to thank you for your letter.
Once of the reasons why I have not written you more
frequently about the chapel is that the progress has
been slow and there has been no perceptable change.
I have worried a great deal about
this. As I told Mr. Wright over the phone, we are now
pouring all the mezannine floor save the north end.
And, we are beginning to lay the blocks above the
mesannine floor. I suppose that these will be plastered both on the outside and inside.
The columns look pretty good, although
I think they will look a lot better when we have the
covering on them.
I am exceedingly anxious to have this
chapel finished by July at least. You of course know
that the cost is going beyond what any of us expected.
I don't know the reason for this. Mr. Marshall says
that the workers are doing the best that they can. I
find them however, about half the time poring over the
blueprints trying to find out what to do.
I don't want you to think I have
neglected writing you. As I said above I didn't have
anything to write about. I knew that I couldn't explain
merely the adding of another block or plank.
I hope that you can come back real
soon so that we may hurry this progress up.
With best wishes to you personally, I am
Very cordially yours,
LUDD M. SPIVEY
