This building was original dedicated as the J. William Horsey Building after a Canadian businessman, but it was rededicated the Lucius Pond Ordway Building on March 9, 1956 in memory of Lucius Pond Ordway, Sr., former president of 3M. The handwriting in pencil on the back of the photograph is mostly unreadable. The only part that could be made out was the following: "U-00-Ordway" Handwritten in blue ink on the back of the photograph is the following: "82"
